The passage of time...
Aug. 12th, 2003 08:23 pmIt's been another "rapidly transiting" day, and an extra two hours tacked onto my shift probably helped fo accentuate that feeling. Olga F. (one of the ladies with whom I worked in Baikonur) is my morning relief, and she had apparently been assigned a morning telecon, leaving me to hold the fort until her telecon was over. As I understand it, she'll be doing another telecon tomorrow morning, and likely yet another one on Thursday morning. I can't complain, really, as I do get paid for the extra hours.
I got a little more sleep today, about 4 hours worth, with another hour of dozing. As for the rest, the main accomplishment for the day has been to teach Lee some HTML basics, and a phone call home to talk to Shannon and Huntur. Moreover, I watched an old Run Run Shaw flick called Three Evil Masters while eating dinner. (It's amazing, some of the stuff that Natalie has in her DVD collection!)
While checking my e-mail this morning, the cat jumped on my back and dug her claws in when I stood up and tried to shake her off. She then proceeded to howl for the rest of the morning. This animal is really beginning to get on my nerves.
(Actually, she is no longer beginning the process; she is well and truly far down the road.)
I'm finding entries for Wikipedia showing up in Google searches. It looks like an interesting site and project, although sometimes it's hard to read the text of some articles owing to the many links within it.
Despite the fact that Drew is supposed to call, I think I'll try to nap for an hour or so before going in to work. It should guarantee a call about midway through the nap. :^)
Cheers...
