Recognition...

It turns out the folks in the Mission Operations Directorate at JSC created some certificates to recognize, "with great appreciation," those of us (about a dozen people) who "completed all training and preparation requirements" for the position of space-to-ground interpreter. The certificates are, of course, suitable for framing, and come in a folder with the photo above mounted above the certificate.
On the editing side, I finished the 105-pager assigned yesterday (which contained 20 graphics that, normally, would have been done by the translator, but which were left to the editor because the translator, apparently, lacked the facilities of the Corel graphics program being used for the project). Furthermore, I got halfway through a 46-pager that, too, has several graphics that were not done by the translator. Considering how the editors seem to be the bottleneck in the machinery, I start to wonder just how serious the client is in meeting its monthly quotas, which are fairly ambitious. There are a lot of translators working on the job; they should use ones who own and know how to use the graphics program, or at least that's the way I see it.
Well, at least my productivity is still up there, and I'll be doing the Execute Package over the weekend.
Natalie's eMachine needs a new fan for its power supply. The one that's there sounds like it's on its last legs, rhythmically varying speed in a most annoying fashion. Grrr.
Cheers...
