Now that everything is back in order (more or less) with onegin, my inbox is much prettier. I took a look at the spam file to make sure the spam filter was working properly (i.e., that nothing important was being thrown away).

The 700 messages in the spam file weighed in at more than 8 MB (10-12 kB per message, on the average), and there were three "false positives" (mailing list stuff that does read like spam in sections, which I took care of by placing the addresses in the so-called "whitelist" of addresses I'll accept mail from no matter how spammy it smells).

I just put the finish to 40,000 words of rework a little while ago, and all the files have been sent. The task was remarkably translation-free (a few additions and deletions), but time-consuming nonetheless. I now have a pile of what turn out to be relatively short documents to translate. Maybe I'll get to them after lunch (or for what passes for lunch around here, which reminds me... I'm the chef.)

Cheers...

After sending in the last of the hazard reports (involving a scenario where the ISS is damaged by ATV thruster plumes), I did four of the documents for the other project the client has me working on... 1400 words or so, and I am calling it a day, as far as work is concerned.

I caught the last 20 minutes of The Rare Breed, with Jimmy Stewart and Maureen O'Hara, and concluded it was one of those movies that could not be made today, with perhaps only the rare exception.

More work arrived today, which is A Good Thing™.

Cheers...
