I've been (riding) on the railroad...
May. 11th, 2004 05:17 pmThe first of two transports arrived today, an Antonov carrying all the ground support equipment for the satellite, which arrives tomorrow on an Airbus "Beluga." Everything went smoothly, especially the offload of five containers and a few smaller boxes onto a short consist of railcars, which I, a few guys from the Pinkerton agency, and some folks who work for Astrium then proceeded to ride along with on the way to the main processing building.
Pictures later, if I get the time. Right now, I'm still behind in my invoicing from April (yikes!) and need to get briefed on what role I'll be playing in tomorrow's festivities. I've already been told the train's speed tomorrow will make the ride about 8 hours long instead of today's 2.5 hours with the GSE.
Then, too, there's dinner, writing a letter to Huntur (I've already sent postcards from London and Moscow), and hopefully, a little exercise.
The bus is back with the crowd from the полтинник ("50") building; time to scoot.
Cheers...
