My LJ anniversary...
Jun. 26th, 2004 07:22 amAlthough my first post on LiveJournal occurred on June 28, 2000, I had actually signed up with this unusual service a couple of days before, on June 26, after having read an item in print about Internet users putting chunks of their lives online. In approximately the same time frame, I also seem to recall having heard some highly opinionated gasbag hold forth on how Jennifer Ringley's "JenniCam" was nothing short of an opening act for the Apocalypse, or something equally impressive.
Unlike said gasbag, whose words made it clear that he'd never actually been online to look at what he was condemning, or even bother to get his facts straight, I decided to test the waters with LiveJournal. It was a pretty good move.
Today, then, this 2,394-th entry marks the start of my fifth year chronicling my thoughts, opinions, memoirs, deathless prose, and various assorted humbug here on LiveJournal.
Cheers...
