Today was about as close to a real day off with pay as Drew has had in recent memory. He came in to help me finalize the daily report and get the mail, after which he pretty much disappeared for the day.

It has been raining pretty steadily the past couple of days, and combined with the temperature gradient out there, it turns out there is white stuff on the summits of the Continental Divide. Me, I'm hoping the rain might coax some last mushrooms out of the ground; the tricky part is getting into the woods to find them.

A nice-sized job came in today, due Monday. I have yet to look at it. I'm told the subject is solid waste incinerators, which is a subject I once held near and dear to my heart (I helped start up such an animal in northern Virginia some years ago).

Galina went to Durango today to pick up food and some supplies for the store, most notably rolls of thermal cash register tape. As it is, the store is currently running on a borrowed roll, as I found out yesterday that the register itself will not function unless there is paper in the tape channel and ended up borrowing a roll from the coffee shop down the strip.

In the end, I came back home and climbed up the few steps thoroughly exhausted. Hopefully, I'll get a better night's sleep than I did last night.

Cheers...
