A slo-mo Saturday...

I spent pretty much all of the day at the store, and some part of that as the only person there, which tended to wind me up when the line started to get deep and the customer I was serving involved me in a time-consuming process. Close to the end of the day, Drew spent some time hooking up a stereo and an amplifier. These work, but require additional work to trim out and install (the amplifier, for example, will go under the passenger's seat).

I napped upon coming home and since then have been moping around, unable to get a fire lit under myself. I made an impromptu soup with a package of thawed seafood, a couple of cut-up Andouille sausages, and rice mix. It's passable, and at this point, if I eat moderately, I'll not be leaving much stuff to spoil in the fridge.

With the nap, I'll probably be good for another 3-4 hours tonight, which I must put to good use. I plan to finish the outstanding translation tomorrow morning, which should take 2-3 hours. Drew promises to come by to finish installing the sound system and help me change the oil in the Civic. Then I'll need to get to sleep early, as I plan to be on the road before dawn on Monday. That also means coordinating battery charges to optimize the condition of various battery-powered items I'll be taking with me.

I've only just noticed, but the quality of the lighting down in my office has degraded. I need to turn on all the lights and turn to.
