Progress...

I finally got my act together this morning and finished the translation. I also addressed the issue of the 19 uneditable figures by keying them by hand and scanning them. I now have about 7 MB of files that have to be sent to the client by tomorrow, which is a relatively simple thing. In the worst case, I can show up tomorrow and rent the hotel's wireless service for a bit.

I also managed to borrow a keyboard for the Linux server that I brought along sans keyboard.

Not staying at the conference hotel can be a drag. I forgot one or two items this morning before leaving, and while I can survive at the conference without them, I will nevertheless miss them.

It's just after 12:30 and the proceedings start up again soon. I need to find a corner and relax.

Cheers...

Desperately seeking connectivity...

I still can't connect from the hotel room. Generally speaking, this is not be a show-stopper, but is sure is a pain in the buttocks.

I came home on the Yonge Street subway line, and came back a stop after overshooting my destination. The walk back was not bad, and I had dinner at a perfectly marvelous place called Sushi Gardens. Their sashimi plate was absolute heaven, and the sake was perfect. Afterward, I walked across the street and took my pick of three tapioca tea places located within a 100-meter stretch of Yonge.

To work! Despite the fact I'm at the 24-hour Internet place around the corner, so to speak, they don't do email attachments and their computers are optimized for English, Korean, and Japanese keyboards. I need to do some last-minute stuff on my Runet presentation.

Cheers...
