Compared to the past week ending just about 24 hours ago, the next two or three days will be a walk in the park. All of the interpreters will be on duty at the полтинник today from 8:30 am to 4 pm, and again at the celebratory blowout banquet that will probably start at 7 pm. Everyone is on "standby" tomorrow, except me (I'll be the on-call interpreter).

The arrival time of the transport plane remains a murky issue and is the long pole in the tent with regard to the question of actually getting out of here. Once that plane arrives, it can be loaded (I think I'm going to be at the airport supporting that operation, come to think of it). Once it's loaded, it can leave, and so can the rest of us.

Time to break fast.

Cheers...

My first post-launch banquet, following the successfuly lofting of AMC-9 in the summer of 2004, is not very memorable, mostly because so much was going on, the specifics were all new to me, and it was a very toast-happy crowd. Tonight, I took it easy with the toasts and left the duties of toastmaster, or tamada, to Vladimir (who only gets better as the evening goes on).

I just got back a little while ago, to check on the status of email from home, where a minor crisis has erupted. Hopefully, it's nothing that can't be taken care of by the folks back home.

Off to sleep; it's been a long day. Tomorrow ought to be fairly quiet. I hope.

Cheers...
