Travel eve...
Jul. 24th, 2005 09:57 pmI took things pretty easy today, although it was hard to not get up early, as the sky gets light pretty early (and gets dark early, too). After all, I am about as far north as Anchorage, Alaska, and it is still only July.
About the only thing I did today was accompany Alla on a short shopping trip in the neighborhood, where we picked up some fixings for dinner, which I cooked (to everyone's apparent delight). It was a simple meal: stir-fried beef with onions and garlic, with string beans on the side.
I also picked up a ROL card for 150 rubles, which ought to give me enough of a balance to keep using my account after I get back, and even from Baikonur (since calling Moscow is fairly easy from there, and nobody on the launch team seems interested in dialing Moscow).
I have not worked out for two days and I feel it. Once I get home, I plan to make time to go for walks on a regular basis. I also plan to take it easy in the food department during tomorrow's travel (which shouldn't be all that difficult).
The taxi has been ordered for 4 am, and I'm getting ready to go to bed for a few hours sleep. I am planning to get up at 3:15 am. There will be plenty of time to sleep on the planes during the roughly 24 hours I'll be on the move tomorrow.
Cheers...
