All packed...

As usual, my dad started dropping hints about getting ready yesterday afternoon, soon after it became clear my mom was staying here, but I only started last night (horror!) and then finished the job this morning. Right now, he's taking a couple of z's in the living room sofa before we leave for the nursing home. I'm sure he's going to want to leave in plenty of time to get to the train station (three weeks ago, it was about half an hour).

The decision to not take my mom to Colorado took everyone by surprise, not least of all Galina, who had arranged for our box supplier in, um, Albuquerque to place our order on the truck that she is to meet tomorrow morning - bright and early - in Durango. So, I'm going to rent a car in Albuquerque and drop it off tomorrow in Pagosa, which will be only slightly more expensive than spending the night in a hotel, as far as I can see.

I have to admit, though, I don't exactly look forward to driving home (4 hours or so) starting after midnight Eastern Standard Time (1 am Eastern, per my - and everyone else's - schedule up to this morning). I just better make sure I get some sleep while I'm in the air.
