Musings...

It occurs to me that yesterday's figure of 180 days away from home really doesn't tell the whole story. There were trips when I was in Houston, but with Galina; there were times I was home and Galina was not. Without going back and trying to get a fix on my life in terms of some latitude of "vagabond" and longitude of "homebody," I think it's safe to say I spent most of last year apart from loved ones. There's an essay in there, somewhere.

The work plate remains empty, which gives me a chance to play catch-up in other areas, which I should go do now.

Galina had given thought to going down to Houston this past weekend, a notion that was scotched by our recalcitrant tenant's coughing up his January rent. However, she still is intent on going down, and if she does, it's better than even money that I'll go with her.

We won't be able to stay with Natalie, as she is moving this weekend and leaving on a business trip next Wednesday, and we won't be able to stay long, as January is the month in which a lot of financially related events must be done (and I must be in Pagosa to do them). Still, the idea of going down to Houston with Galina is too good to pass up.

I might, indeed, call some of my Houston clients to see if they might be interested in me being around, at no additional cost for travel or lodging.

Just this once.

Cheers...
