Paddling as fast as I can go...
Feb. 3rd, 2006 09:35 pmA couple of trips to Houston ago, I stopped to visit one of our tenants, who works for the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency. His wife served me some green tea that was head and shoulders above any green tea I have ever consumed. Remembering that my hostess had said it was powdered tea, I attempted to find a similar tea at the Hong Kong Market, with little success.
During this past trip, I visited the house again and mentioned my quest, to which my hostess gave me a package of Japanese green tea.
A kind of tea called "sencha," and I think that's the key to the issue.
We've just returned from another Friday night dinner with the kids, and while Sunset Blvd. is playing on TCM, I just brewed some sencha for myself and Galina.
Heaven!
In other news, I've put about 1/3 of the handwritten job behind me and the story is starting to read like a cross between Peyton Place and The Untouchables. I can't wait to find out what happens next.
I've got to get back to Bill Holden and Gloria Swanson.
Cheers...
