Plumb tired doing nothing...
Mar. 29th, 2006 03:40 pmActually, that's not really the case.
Drew called this morning to say he'd be 15 minutes late opening the store, and would I be kind enough... I said yes.
Apparently, while I was pulling on my pants and buttoning my shirt, one of my East Coast clients called - at 7:53 am Mountain Time - basically wondering how come I'm not answering emails. I find this out when I pull out my phone to call Drew at nearly 8:30 to find out where he is.
By this time, I've already sent off the one remaining item due today, as this is not the first time I've been lured to the store and left stranded.
I get back to the office in time to fetch all the emails from the client. There is Yet Another List Of Comments™ to address, which I do, on a point-by-point basis. A little while later, the final proofs come in and I look at them one last (hopefully) time.
I get a call from Houston, warning me of two short items for tomorrow, and can I receive a 16 MB attachment? I say yes, because my mail service assures me that I can receive attachments of up to 50 MB in size, but something between there and here decides otherwise, so I am expecting a FedEx tomorrow. Go figure!
In between, I've been rearranging the office like mad, creating more storage space through the use of shelves. I'd really like to get rid of the fax machine that's on my reference table, but where do I put it? (These are the kinds of questions that pervade my life at the moment; may all of life's problems be so... minor.)
The iPod's battery must be a little on the old side, as the unit holds less than 10 minutes of charge. Also, it would appear that the circuitry doesn't suck in the go-juice when connected to a USB port (although there is a data link), which means the unit spends most of its time charging via the Firewire connection to the AC adapter.
I am ready for a nap.
Cheers...
