French day...
May. 14th, 2006 09:34 pmI enjoyed dinner last night at the Mike and Karen's. Karen didn't much care for red caviar, and eased off on the vodka early, which left the dirty task of finishing off both to Mike and me (if truth be told, there wasn't much of either to begin with).
After a main course of penne pasta and sausage, and some good conversation, I accepted the proffered bed in the spare office and spent the night. I got up early and soon we were having a continental breakfast.
Then things slowed down for a couple of hours, as we talked about everything under the sun, including renovating houses.
Mike finally got me home around 10:30 am or so, and I started in on the French job soon after.
It ain't easy.
I've probably translated about 2000 words for the day, and I am tired. The good news is, I've knocked off about 22 pages for the day, and at that rate, I'll likely finish the job on time. The bad news is, it is highly likely I'll get additional work this coming week.
Can't worry about it now, though. I better start getting ready for bed.
Cheers...
