An innocent start to the day...

As there was no message from Drew on my cell last night or this morning, I decided to go open the store on the off chance - what made me think that? no, the near certainty - that Drew would be late opening the store. I meant to just come in, open, hang around for a couple of hours, and then go home.

Drew was indeed late, and I, um, was delayed.

As one can tell from the time stamp, it's nearly 4 pm, and I'm not home yet. In fact, I'm at the coffee shop down a few doors, and I've finally figured out (or stumbled upon) how to connect to the local wireless network in order to download a pile of new work. I've also got an appointment around noonish tomorrow to go downtown and interpret for someone in the local hoosegow.

It's a laugh a minute up here at altitude in Colorado, yes it is.

Cheers...

Action plan!

Dinner is finished (discount tilapia, fried in olive oil with herbs).

I figure I have three good hours of work left in me tonight. What to do? This:

  • edit a document
  • translate one more

    Then tomorrow morning:

  • edit a second document
  • get ready to coordinate with Drew to borrow the car to go downtown for the interpreting gig at the county brig. (Say, that rhymes!)

Technically, tomorrow I could bike to the corner of Piedra Road and Highway 160, and then coast the remaining four miles to downtown, but that would make getting back somewhat problematical. The issue is moot, at any rate, as the gear shift on my bike gave up the ghost and as I am not quite willing to walk everywhere that duty calls around here, I stopped by a local bike shop this morning to get the vehicle repaired and adjusted. It wasn't ready by six, which both disappoints and sort of fills me with dread: just how much is this thing gonna cost?

I can't worry about it now, though. There's too much to do.

    Cheers...
