Sort of. By which I mean, it's already Tuesday!

(Wait two hours, and it'll be Wednesday!)

My sending in the Q4 sales tax return for 2005 and the Q1 return for 2006 at the same time seems to have confused some folks up in Denver. I've received two letters, one asking why I haven't filed Q4 for 2005, and the other asking why I overpaid Q1 for 2006. I think I know what happened, although the letters are short on detail, and sent a response off today.

Meanwhile, I've been at the face of the salt mine, working in French. Three short items were sent off today, and I'm 3,000 words into the next item, with more promised on the incoming side. I'll cautiously say it's an auspicious start for June.

There's been no additional word on the Baikonur trip. I'm guessing the Fairy Godmother Department™ will schedule departure for July 5, but that's only if the FGD hasn't gone on vacation.

Drew is taking Shannon to Durango tomorrow to see doctors, so it will fall to me to take care of the store during the second half of the day. Therefore, I better get a good head of steam going in the morning and commit at least 2500 words to phosphor, maybe more, but without doing a number on myself. A short item came in over the transom due Thursday afternoon, but I think I can start on it on Thursday morning.

So far, the Kettridge dictionary is turning out to be not very useful, with only about one hit (and an easy one at that) out of at least 20 tries. I do hope this does not turn out like one or two other dictionaries I've owned (notably a multilingual environmental dictionary that's printed on onionskin and was horrifically expensive, but which, for some reason, almost always fails to come up with the term I'm looking for). I have an electronics dictionary like that, too: thick, lots of entries, but none that I need. One day, if I ever have the spare time, I'll try to figure out why some dictionaries are a poor "fit" with the type of work I do.

's late. Time to turn in.

Cheers...
