Solidly in Houston...
Jun. 27th, 2006 07:57 pmWe arrived in Houston yesterday at about 7:30 or 8 pm, depending on whether you count the time out to visit to the Sam's Club on Fuqua (a street whose pronunciation always elicits raised eyebrows). I managed to unpack about 1/3 of the truck after arrival, mostly consisting of the bedding. Galina and I slept well.
We managed to convince a couple of guys on a grass-cutting crew to take time out from their break to help me unload the heavy stuff from the truck, and it was a double sawbuck well spent. Once the heavy stuff was off the truck, I was able to empty the rest of the volume fairly quickly.
It was an afternoon for napping.
I am writing this from Natalie's apartment. We stopped by to grab some stuff from her storage space (dinette and chairs, shelves) and to have dinner with our favourite daughter.
Galina and Natalie are in the kitchen right now, negotiating over whatweapons of mass destructioncooking implements we can take with us. I better go join them.
The campaign is slated to start one day early. I am inclined to not change my itinerary. I will confirm this tomorrow with my client. With any luck, this will give me a day in Moscow on the front end to visit with the mother- and sister-in-laws.
Cheers...
