Two down...
Aug. 22nd, 2006 08:18 pmI sent Drew an SMS upon getting to the store this morning, preferring to bike rather than wake Galina up just to take me to work. I just wanted to know how he was doing. It turns out today, he was being trained in the use of a new portable terminal that will be used to keep track of package deliveries.
Otherwise, it was a fairly longish day - not as hectic as yesterday, but still tiring. Galina and I worked out a schedule whereby she will come in at 10 am and I'll quit as soon as UPS picks up for the day, but it started to rain at about the time UPS picked up packages, so I moped around the store for about 30 minutes until Galina put up one of those annoying "Back in 10 minutes" signs in the front door and drove me home.
Had it not been raining, I would've probably taken the opportunity to drive out to Fourmile Road to see if there were any mushrooms about. Based on a post by LJ friend
vuzh, I'm seriously wondering if the best part of mushroom season is passing by, and that when Feht and I finally make it out to the woods, all we'll find will be the remains of a spectacular season.
A short rush job came into the store at about the time Galina came back from picking up mail downtown. I managed to eke out enough time to write the translation and send it off before rejoining the fray. Billings during these two weeks are going to be rather slim, I'm afraid.
I could not nap upon coming home, so I better get some high quality sleep tonight. Tomorrow is going to be another day spent toward closing the store.
Cheers...
