Boiling along...
Sep. 7th, 2006 01:15 pmLat night, Galina got to thinking about what else to take to Houston, and while it'd be nice to have some additional things down there, after a few minutes thought, I realized that I had been prepared to return from the campaign and live in Houston, so my list was pretty short: clothing, some more books, a couple of the folding bookshelves from the store... that kind of thing. Still, I'll likely devote a couple of hours to packing, but it'll have to occur tomorrow afternoon.
I had about 5000 words on my plate by a couple of hours ago, including a rush-rate job from a client who rarely offers a rush rate (though the deadlines might make you think otherwise). That job was just returned, and I feel pretty good about it, considering how the client stressed the importance of having the text read like polished, native English.
After all, "polished, native English 'R' us!"
This morning, I put in an order for another refill of the BP meds, which ought to be ready shortly. I hope the pharmacy isn't forced to "owe" me any tablets, as has happened in the past, since otherwise they'll have to send me the balance. (Only pharmacies are allowed to send prescription meds through the mail, did you know that?)
So now, I have 1900 words left of one document that's "in work," and 2200 and 330 words left of two others that I haven't started yet and which are due tomorrow around midday. I've also had to decline additional work. Rats.
There's been little time to think of anything else, but that's the way it's turnin' right now.
Cheers...
