Upgrading myself to business class for the flight over was a Really Good Idea™, especially in light of my agreeing to pull an all-nighter on the eve of departure. I'm not sure I want to do that again soon.

It was also a good idea to take the time to go online at Atlanta (even though it cost $4.95), as it turned out I had to make some changes to some online banking arrangements that otherwise would have cost money. (I will fix that once I get to Baikonur; doing online banking using someone else's computer makes me nervous.)

The business class section of the flight out of Atlanta looked like a launch campaign reunion, as there must have been nearly a dozen people in the cabin going, as I was, to Moscow for the upcoming effort. I managed to get a few hours of sleep soon after finishing dinner, and another couple of hours just before breakfast. My neighbor somehow managed to fall asleep soon after wheels-up and stayed that way until shortly before breakfast.

Getting to the hotel from the airport was a snap. I could've walked it in about 10 minutes, but did catch the shuttle, which got me to my destination in under 2 minutes. Upon settling in, a few minutes after 11:30 am, I was determined to take the hotel's free 2:30 pm shuttle into town, so I lay down to take a nap. "Nap" I did, and overslept the alarm, until a little after 3 pm.

Soon after, as the hotel's Internet access rate was pretty steep (and as I wanted to "refill" my cell phone), I took the hotel's shuttle back to the terminal and got on a "route taxi," a form of public transportation that's a cross between a taxi and a bus, which took me to the "Planernaya" metro station. (So I remember, it was route taxi #49.)

From there, I rode to the "Kuznetsky Most" station, near the Marriott, and got both my phone refilled and a ticket for 30 minutes of online access. The latter was a good idea, as that was how I found out I should be in the hotel lobby tomorrow morning to be picked up for the trip to the "other" airport (the domestic one, which shares runways with the international one) and the flight to Kazakhstan.

I really should consider going out to the in-laws, but I probably look and definitely feel like, well... I don't wish to burden you with Too Much Information™. I think I will grab a bite at the "Teremok" and then wend my way home to the Novotel for some more sleep. Tomorrow's another travel day.

Cheers...
