Smooth sailing, so far...
Oct. 12th, 2006 11:17 pmThe work day went fairly smoothly, with quite a bit of support on my part, including a "lessons learned" meeting.
The concept, I feel, does not sit well with the Russian side, but we got through the meeting remarkably quickly, having discussed issues having to do with ventilation of the container for its trip from the airport to the processing facility and with the source of some dust found on the spacecraft after the container was opened. In all, very routine issues.
The Astrium team, it is rumored, is planning on a Saturday night at the Luna nightclub in town, followed by a sleep session at one of the hotels in town. Sunday looks like it's going to be another day off, and as I mentioned in an earlier post, having a day off makes the rest of the week more bearable, though once propellant loading starts, the schedule will revert to seven days a week until launch.
I covered nearly 7 km walking today, in two sessions (4 km in the morning and nearly 3 km just before dinner). Tomorrow, I'm the "morning interpreter" so I better get to bed soonest.
Cheers...
