Moving along, slowly...
Feb. 5th, 2007 09:37 pmThe item that was supposed to land in my inbox last Friday still hasn't arrived, though it's way too early to start worrying about it. Still... it's as though I'm back in mark-time mode.
I sent back the test translation yesterday and stayed up last night to call the recipient in Chelyabinsk. I also just sent off the invoice. (BTW, it turns out that Chelyabinsk and Baikonur are in the same time zone, at least as far as standard time is concerned.)
I called my dad in New York and told him I'd make time this month to go visit him. JetBlue airline has a pretty good deal available from Hobby to JFK ($59 + tax); I just have to make sure I take advantage of it.
I was invited out to lunch by my best client, and we had a nice conversation at one of the Indian buffets that have sprung up in the vicinity of the space center. Part of a title by "the square" came to mind as we left the place. (Sorry for the cryptic reference... c'est la vie!)
My clean-up effort around the office over the weekend had unexpected fallout as I spent most of the morning searching for some checks that came in late last week. I found them, eventually, but I must say I am getting sick of spending so much time looking for stuff. It seems the more organized I get, the more time I spend searching for stuff.
I am way behind in my podcast reviews, especially of Coffee Break Spanish. The last couple of nights, though, I've been catching up on other listening as I drifted off to sleep.
Exercise today was a bike ride down West Bay Area Blvd from 528 to 518 and back. Most of the stretch is equipped with a paved sidewalk that nobody uses, so I used it.
I have a telecon tomorrow morning, and the supporting documentation for it arrived in an attachment that binds together almost a megabyte of data. I'm inclined to get up about half and hour early tomorrow to review it then, as I have absolutely no interest in doing so right now.
