Famous last words...

"...if yesterday's sim was any indication, it's not going to be a very stressful assignment such as, say, space-to-ground."

The short version: yesterday's sim was no indication at all. Not even close. Not even in the same ballpark. Not within a bleeding parsec.

And while it's been an instructive sim so far, part of what I've learned can't be easily leveraged (e.g., a male French native-speaker talking with his mouth too close to his microphone over an overamplified channel in English with a heavy accent is nearly impossible to understand).

I am well and truly tired. And my throat is ready to throttle me.

Cheers...

It occurs to me...

It suddenly occurs to me that Shiloh knows that the key to opening doors has something to do with the doorknob, because when she comes up against a door she wants opened, she is not content to sit on the floor and whine, or to scratch or chew the door from her position near the floor.

No, Shiloh jumps up as high as she can and tries to put her paws on the doorknob. And though she is still too small to jump high enough to reach the knob, she keeps trying.

I am thinking this is one smart - and motivated - dog I adopted.

In other news, the sim ended early, with the debrief ending at around 10:20 am. I want to go to sleep, and check bill payments, and post a couple of invoices. What to do first?

Cheers...
