One of the side effects of having clients who pay over terms longer than 30 days (and sometimes even longer than whatever period they commit to) has been a perceived need to send monthly statements at the end of the month, which corresponds to the time that all work for the month for such clients must be invoiced.

Yesterday, I was fortunate enough to remember to develop new statements (since the invoice manager I bought at the beginning of the year doesn't really have such a feature) and in doing so, found that I had failed to invoice the second half of a PO that developed said second half rather by accident. Between that and the translation sent off yesterday, the billings for July turned out to be 10% over my goal, which isn't exactly "gangbusters," but I'll gladly take it.

I resumed the 30-min walk "routine" with Shiloh this morning (if you can call something done for one day before interruption a "routine"), and we just came back a few minutes ago from our evening constitutional. I think a lot about what it might take to train a dog properly, and this evening, when there were times that Shiloh was orbiting about me like a tetherball on the end of a rope during a particularly intense game, I looked forward to the first obedience class that we'll attend, which is scheduled for tomorrow night. It can't hurt, at any rate.

I spent a few more minutes studying the sundry variations of TiddlyWikis out there, to get some idea of how to include a commenting capability or hide the list of tiddlers that looms intimidatingly on the right-hand side of the screen. I also started to seriously consider "renting" some screen real estate to display ads, but find that it's really hard to get any information about the subject that isn't tainted by commercial interests. (Perhaps I should take the advice offered a little while back on lifehacker.com and ask my questions on a social networking site such as Facebook?)

Natalie called and says she and Kyle intend to take off from Colorado tomorrow early in the morning and do a one-day swoop to Houston. It'll be good to see her.

Cheers...
