I finished translating the urgent item last night and dispatched it this morning. I also dusted off the emergency dropbox concept with a new wrinkle.

The emergency dropbox is simply a page devoted to a particular client in my Backpack account. When I create the page, I send an invitation to the client to register with Backpack and share the page, and that's the rub. While a couple of clients have registered, most choose not to, especially since this is only an "emergency" dropbox, i.e., one that is to be used when nothing else works. (Here, you run into the "fixing the leaky roof" problem: if it's raining, it's too wet to fix the roof; if it's not raining, the roof doesn't need fixing.)

My client's agreeing to let me join the group at Kemah today allowed me to hang out until 11 am, which in turn allowed me to finish the 1450+ words that were left in the assignment originally due tomorrow. As soon as I finish this post, I plan to get some water to drink and then settle down and check the document and send it before going to sleep.

Today's support was largely innocuous, as the group visited the Kemah boardwalk and then motored down 146 to Galveston Island. A fine time was had by all, but not all that much actually took place. No matter. The meat of the meeting begins tomorrow.

Speaking of which, I'm not quite sure when I need to be out of here in order to be in Katy at 7:30 am. With no traffic on Saturday, the trip took me 43 minutes. I figure I ought to be about right if I double that time and add 15 minutes, so I'm figuring on a departure time of 5:45 am or so. At any rate, I've set a wakeup for 5 am, and if I could lay my head down at 9:30 pm, I would be happy.

To do that, I need to get cracking on the document check. It's all interwingled.

Cheers...

Darned if I didn't stumble across a short translation that I promised a client in New York for tomorrow morning, that I had completely forgotten about until it passed under my gaze about 90 minutes ago.

Fortunately, it was a shortie, and it's done, and now I'm loading <spit> Quick Books Invoice Manager <spit> right now to create an invoice for the job.

I'm going to have to do better than this.

Cheers...
