The looting of the county by members of its government requires some sacrifices on the part of the citizenry. For example, the hours of the waste collection station have been cut to almost nothing, but we managed to get there with a load of stuff out of the garage with several minutes to spare. At about that time, it became clear to me that we would not be departing "first thing in the morning," which is our only realistic chance to do the whole trip in one day (i.e., not overnight somewhere).
Of course, we might conceivably have tried to shoehorn everything in yesterday, but that would've meant skipping dinner with Mike and Karen, which would have been a bad trade all around. Dinner was okay, but in the future, I'll make sure to avoid seafood specials that include "a half of a broiled lobster tail" (the poor thing really didn't want to give up its meat).
Ah, well.
There's still an hour or two of moving stuff around and packing left to do, so I may as well enjoy it... and get to it.
For the record, the state of the plate is three assignments: one shortie due Monday (but very nearly unreadable); one item due next Wednesday, and a third due after I get to New York.
Cheers...
