I doubt it.
I took the opportunity to help a friend of the family visit the city today. Rather than take the LIRR, we drove in on the LIE, getting off at Junction Boulevard. I drove up to 37th Avenue and managed to find parking on a side street fairly quickly and not too far away from a stop on the "7" elevated subway, which we took to the 5th Avenue station.
Our business in Manhattan complete - and since I was not feeling as energetic as I did yesterday - we got on on the outbound "7," but got off at 74th Street and Roosevelt Avenue, with the idea of slowly walking through my old neighborhood to where the car was parked, on 94th Street. There's a huge melting pot within those 20 blocks, by the way. I ate lunch at a Chinese joint offering Hispanic food across the street from store displaying jewelry from India.
While driving home, I recalled that I wrapped up Sanjuro in its Netflix he mailer and prepared the water bill for the mail, but I completely didn't remember putting these items in the mail, so I fully expected to see them still on my desk upon returning home, but they weren't there. So where might they be? I will be keeping an extra eye on my email account to see if (and more hopefully, when) Netflix says its gets the disk back.
Apropos of which, Mel Gibson's Apocalypto showed up in the mail today (emptying my Netflix queue), and we watched it after dinner. I may have something to say about it later, as it's getting late, and I'm tired.
Cheers...
