A strange one...
May. 16th, 2008 11:31 pmAbsolute chaos.
The refinishers got as far as the dining room, and I was supposed to have emptied out my office and it was supposed to have been refinished, too, but it didn't happen that way.
And then it was time to go pick up my meds at Costco, who may have better prices than local pharmacies, but whose ability to follow instructions is so limited that they managed to screw up every aspect of my prescription short of actually not providing me with meds.
I've got a "slow" assignment coming in, except I'm not sure how "light" it might be, after seeing about 75 pages in the first of three documents. The other two documents, in fact, are so large, my client was not able to send them via email. I picked up a set of ink cartridges for my Epson so I can print out a set of documents to take with me, seeing as how I won't have a second monitor available.
Overall, I did more than my share of whining today, which I am not too happy about in retrospect. (Imagine that! Whining about whining!) Anyway, by the time we got home, the refinishers had polyurethaned the floors and I couldn't get to my office, which didn't help my mood.
So, Galina and I did the only thing we could under the circumstances: we went out to eat. Like, for real (no counters, no windows, no "djawanfrieswiddat?"). We visited the Locust Valley Inn, and while the food was okay, we felt a little funny in the pronouncedly geriatric setting. It was a minimal dinner: no coffee, no dessert.
I have to empty my office first thing tomorrow. I also have to get ready to fly on Sunday.
Cheers...
