Over the hump...
Jun. 22nd, 2008 07:35 pmSomehow, I managed to recover from last night's dinner at Mike and Karen's (always fun, especially the dog talk) and then pumped out about 4400 target words for the last of four contracts and reworked what turned out to be a horrid little file that was full of mistranslations (there were parts I couldn't revise unless I retranslated unrevised material).
Of course, another explanation that comes to mind is the old, but reliable, standby: someone started to mark revisions after someone else had already started revising the file. In any event, it didn't help that revisions were done "by hand" in three colors, and that some table rows spanned more than one page (certainly more than one screen, which turned searches into adventures. Eh-knee-weigh...
In the end, I worked on the file until my budgeted time ran out, at which point I was satisfied that my part of the job was finished, although generally speaking I detest the I'm-aboard-pull-up-the-gangplank mindset whose long-term effect is a marked cynicism toward life in general.
The plate grows dangerously light, but tomorrow is another day, and I've got a load of other stuff to take care of as well.
Cheers...
