Jun. 28th, 2008 11:10 amGalina beat Shiloh to the punch this morning, though not by much, by calling me at 6:30 am my time. Actually, I missed the call, but I dimly recall something waking me up, just not what.
Upon regaining full consciousness (involving a cup of coffee), I checked my cell, realized what had happened, and called back. Galina was getting ready to leave after showing the house off, and wanted details about the route home.
I recited what I could from memory, then decided it would make sense to hang up, go online (tethering the BlackBerry means you can either talk or surf, but not both at the same time), verify what I had remembered via mapquest.com, and call Galina back, which is what I did.
Hopefully, by now, Galina is in New Jersey, on I-80.
One of the down sides to updating Linux software is that any kernel-related modifications one makes have to be repeated when the kernel is updated. I became aware of this when my EarthMate GPS stopped working with the Eee. I know (or at least heavily suspect I know) what needs to be done to fix the situation, but getting online with Linux involves hieing myself to a wifi hotspot (such as the one at the coffee shop), which won't occur until...
...a few minutes from now, because suddenly, I feel the need to hie myself to the supermarket, which is just a hop, step, and jump from the coffee shop.
Film at 11.
Cheers...
