Spent most of the day at the computer, but only wrote one of four invoices that need writing. My bad.

Around 2 pm, Galina and I started off toward the bank to deposit some checks, but detoured to the Pagosa Brewery for lunch. The salmon gyro I had the other day was no fluke; those things are good. And Sunday must've been an off day for ale, because the pint I had at lunch was excellent.

After carrying on about how difficult it was to see anything with my excellent magnifier, I hit upon the idea of scanning stamps that need closer examination to see if they're different types of the same basic stamp. It ought to also help with color comparisons, too. (I figure one scan isn't going to hurt.)

The jury is still out on whether there's anything to this idea because I have too many questions about what needs looking at. One scan I made of a canceled stamps at 2400 dpi shows a distinction between the ink used to cancel the stamp and the ink used to print it. I'll need to do a little research to figure out how to make that distinction clear.

In other news, I broke down and bought a kombucha SCOBY and some kefir grains on eBay a day or two ago. They should get here tomorrow, according to the post office's web site.

I made the decision to go with eBay after checking finding out that many people will give away extra kefir grains (which multiply as part of the process), but unless you happen to be in a place where you can swing by and actually pick them up in person, most folks charge about to send grains through the mail as I paid on eBay for the kefir grains and the kombucha SCOBY.

It's been ages since I've had kombucha.

Cheers...
