According to my plan, I ought to have 1250 words of the current document left to do tomorrow, but by having put in a little extra over the past three days, I've managed to finish the document a few minutes ago (lacking, of course, the obligatory despeckling session).

I've received an email from the company that has not paid me for some time because - they say - of an inability to collect money from their clients. This kind of thing is, unfortunately, common enough in this industry, though it's well-established that an end client's failure to pay does not relieve an agency of its obligation to pay its freelancers. Unfortunately, they appear to be offering me about 14 cents for every dollar they owe me, and I plan to discuss this proposal at length with them.

I can smell the initial whiff of burnout. Despite rising at about the same time every day, I notice I am actually sitting down to work later and later each day, and taking more frequent and longer breaks. I am going to need a weekend soon.

Cheers...
