A reasonable position...
Nov. 21st, 2009 09:12 pmI've managed to do a first pass on about 2,700 source words of the 3,000 due on Monday around 10 am, and the same for another 2,700 target words due tomorrow night. I am thus in a reasonable position to complete what needs finishing (about 4,500 source words) without having to go fetch any of that messy midnight oil.
I managed to get an invitation to Google Wave, and after logging in, I spent about a half hour watching the site videos and trying to grok it. It looks pretty interesting, though I suspect I won't be able to do all that much until I have other Wave contacts (the public waves seem all a little daunting).
* * * Dinner tonight was pretty much "from scratch." It consisted of a soup based largely on LJ friend
furzicle's published recipe (I left out the butter and flour, and added some onion, mushroom, and garlic) and a home-made pizza made by using one-fourth of my "standard" bread dough mixture, drizzled with olive oil, bruschetta, mozzarella, mushrooms, thin-sliced kielbasa, and a little parmesan.
The way things worked out, the three loaves that I made with the rest of the mixture went in to bake as the pizza was coming out, which had the pleasant side-effect of optimizing my labor and oven usage. As far as the dinner itself was concerned, I cannot recall the last time I had such a satisfying meal! (And I think Galina agrees!)
Cheers...
