Holidays are a strange time for translators, as quite a number of end clients find holidays just the time to send long, cumbersome documents off for translation during the holiday, so as to have finished products to look at upon returning from any holiday celebration.

It's not as if translators never get to celebrate holidays (or weekends, for that matter), it's just that an awful lot of work gets offered during such periods.

Still, there's that part of my mind that survives from when I used to be a wage slave, that considers times like the upcoming holiday period to be, by definition, slow.

So when work continues to clog my inbox during the first week of December, you'll not find me unappreciative.

The day's bag contains nearly 3,000 source words, with 900 words left for tomorrow morning (due to my client by 10 am my time), along with 5 short documents, which I plan on finishing tomorrow as well.

I would normally keep working and complete the 900 words right now (and leave despeckling for tomorrow morning), but Galina is planning to embark for Houston tomorrow, so I'm choosing to quit this keyboard now and get upstairs and spend some time with her before she leaves. I can always get up at 6 am and finish what I need to while she sleeps in.

Cheers...
