Ahead of the game, for now...
Dec. 18th, 2009 07:17 pmOne of my instructions with regard to the 150-page table I was working on today was to only translate the right-hand two columns (or, if necessary, three columns, as this number changes from page to page). To add insult to injury, it turned out the table exhibited some formatting pathology that made it impossible to simply select the first two columns and highlight them in such a way so as to have Wordfast ignore them.
But I got that part of the job done yesterday, and today I was able to get through all 7,400 source words in... call it 10 hours.
Before I start the despeckling process, there's one more pass I have to make through the file, but it should not take very long. I may put it off until Sunday, so as to take a good running start tomorrow morning into 9,500 source words of an engineering report. I hope to get at least 5,000 words of that document past my fingertips tomorrow, which will leave a relatively easy Sunday for me.
My, but that sounds like a plan. In the meantime, I need to focus my eyeballs on something more than 30 inches away from my face.
Feeding the animals sounds like it might help me do that.
Cheers...
