State of the Plate...

Yesterday was not as productive as the day before, but I was distracted for part of the morning. (I had spent entirely too much of the previous night unable to fall asleep because of ideas pounding about inside my head, so in a way, the time invested actually saved me time over the long haul, but I digress...)

Despeckling a completed item consumed another chunk of time (and I probably haven't mention that I received and managed to slip in about 2500 source words of a document that contained a lot of previously encountered boilerplate).

So all in all, yesterday was a 6100-source word day (but 2500 words of that were not part of my original plan). This leaves me with a despeckling job and 13626 source words to complete between today and tomorrow.

I already have a job on the plate due Sunday, and another one due Monday, and a third due Tuesday. Another 8 files hit my inbox late last night, which I plan to start translating on Monday as well.

The January "drought" would appear to be abating. ;)

Cheers...

Brain turning to mush...

This morning started out pretty poorly. Between various interruptions (including a BSOD), I managed to translate only 1000 source words between 9:30 am and noon. This is pretty bad, especially when you consider that the document is not all that complicated.

Things started looking up as the day progressed, and I actually managed to get a pretty good pace going in the afternoon. For the past couple of hours, I've been translating in bursts of 200-300 words, followed by long breaks. Right now, I've got under 500 words left until I reach today's self-assigned quota of 6400 source words.

Then I am going to decompress, because I get to do this again tomorrow (hopefully without the BSOD).

Cheers...
