Tough day...
Jan. 31st, 2010 09:23 pmI was finally ready to leave for Pagosa around 1 pm today, actually left, and as I contemplated at what gas station to fill the Ford's tank, it occurred to me I hadn't seen my wallet since returning home from shopping yesterday.
The good news was that it wasn't lost. I hadn't accidentally shoved it willy-nilly into one of the boxes that went in the Ford, either. In fact, I had put it exactly where it should have been, my "fanny pack" (which I carry by a shoulder strap), apparently automatically, with stuff like my meds.
I'd say my failure to remember where I had put the wallet was due to having become disused to going out with the pack much. In the end, Galina merely shook her head and said, "Sometimes, I worry about you."
So I got on the road late, but managed to cover almost 1/3 of the distance to Pagosa. Tomorrow will be no picnic, but neither will it be a grinding slog that brings me to the house late in the evening.
I look forward to seeing Drew and his family again.
Cheers...
