Another day...
Apr. 3rd, 2010 10:28 pm...another, well... almost 3,000 words.
The day went by fairly quickly, all things considered. My upcoming potential trip to Kazakhstan is making me acutely aware of a need to get stuff wired together as far as computing resources, etc., are concerned. There is a certain coloration to the special type of frustration one feels when you're 12 time zones away from home and missing a USB 2.0 cable (or worse, an iPod USB cable).
Galina suggested I move all the junk out of my room into the rooms next door, and although I didn't think it was a great idea at the time, it's actually a lot less oppressive to work without having to step over stuff that I ought to go through in the next few days. I don't know if it's because stuff that's "out of sight is out of mind," or if there is actually something beneficial going on.
I am a healthy past the halfway point of the Next Big Job™, and intend to put another dent in the word count before Monday morning. For now, I need to finish some disk backup operations and then see about creating an Ubuntu rescue disk. Maybe.
Cheers...
