Among the things that ticked me off earlier in the evening was some process on my Windows 7 machine that kept ripping the keyboard focus away from whatever application I happened to be in, which meant both that (a) I was no longer typing "inside" the application I was trying to work with, and (b) my keystrokes were going—somewhere else.

So I started the Task Manager and kept my eye at the top of the process list (with the CPU sorted in descending order), and it would appear that Firefox was the culprit, which would seem to be supported by the fact that shutting down all processes associated with Firefox caused the objectionable behavior to stop. What Firefox was doing with the keystrokes remains a mystery.

It turns out the local liquor store does carry "Jarhead Red," so I bought a bottle a little while back, to give it a try (online reviews said it was worth the price) and have been pouring myself a glass over the past few evenings. It's a simple red table wine, but I find it quite drinkable, even compared to my favorite Montepulciano d'Abruzzo.

More work came in today, and the day's haul of words stands at about 4,200 or so. I have two items that need to be delivered tomorrow, one Friday morning, and another by Friday COB. So far, everything seems under control.

Last week, CBS pulled a dirty stunt by presenting the first part of a two-part story for not just NCIS, but for NCIS: Los Angeles as well. This evening, the network redeemed itself with the continuations of the stories, which I thought were well thought out (even if I didn't quite fathom all of the nuances near the end of the latter show).

Cheers...
