Rapid replanning...
Dec. 27th, 2010 09:17 amI was prepared for a fairly quiet last week to the year, but that's not going to happen, at least not as far as today and tomorrow are concerned.
The client whose work I put on hold because I interpreted the last email received as an "objection to price" and not a "notice to proceed" has responded that, no, they would like me to proceed with the work. As soon as I acknowledged that email, I received about 5200 source words for tomorrow, COB.
Combined, I have about 8400 words to complete in two days. Throw in that I won't be able to accompany Natalie tomorrow morning when we must take her back to Albuquerque, and suddenly, I am up to my keister in stress.
After my heroic levels of productivity of last Thursday and Friday, and particularly after the enjoyable and relaxing weekend (about which I shall have to relate, but later), I'm finding it something of a struggle to get a fire lit under my seat, but I'm getting there.
Galina reminds me that I should be thankful to have work. She has a point.
Cheers...
