A good thing I had all that time!
Apr. 1st, 2011 09:59 pmI sent off about 10,000 words today, and have about 6,000 left to edit, translated using the new memoQ tool. Galina spent the day getting the car ready for a road trip.
In between everything else, I took some pruning shears to some of the processes that various applications install to run by default because the publishers figure I bought my computer just to run their application, and of course I need one process to check for updates, and another to preload a bunch of stuff in memory so that it seems to come right up when I launch the app, and so on.
Suddenly, the CPU load on my machine has stopped flatlining at 99% and actually has begun to go up and down!
Besides being late, we've all been up since about 4 am, when Hana, our mother cat, got engaged in Some Kind of Cat Fight out on the verandah. (When I awoke, it sounded like the fight was going on outside the bedroom door.)
Time to wind down and get some shuteye. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day.
