The other 95%...

Very often, one gets through 95% of a job, only to turn around and find there's another 95% left to do, which pretty much describes my progress with the books downstairs, today. But at least now, the basement is well and truly empty of books, and about six boxes of discards are sitting on the driveway, awaiting tomorrow's trash pickup.

There have been people parading through the house, too, including our real estate agent and the fellow who managed our renovation a couple of years ago, who had less-than-kind things to say about the workmanship of the gutter replacement of a couple of months ago.

Work was limited to a response sent to a fellow looking for a literary tranlsation of some artist's biography. I estimate my chances of getting the job to be pretty poor, as I'm asking for full freight on my rate, to be paid in advance chunks, but there you have it.

I expect work to resume tomorrow.
