Same stuff, different day... (I think)
Dec. 1st, 2011 07:55 pmThere is the slightest glimmer of light in the darkness, and I have the feeling it may be the light at the end of this tunnel of PowerPoint presentations I am currently working on.
I took stock of my situation last night, and determined I was about 25% complete (if you count slides) with the 62-slide monster that's the last thing on my plate for this particular package of documents. A few minutes ago, based on my impromptu checklist, I finished the file.
Despeckling will wait until tomorrow morning, and it occurs to me that the only way to rationally do a word count on a set of slides where all but a handful live inside of embedded Word objects is to print a PDF, and then submit the PDF to an OCR program and do a word count on the result.
If I add the 4700-word document I finished and sent to whatever the word count is for the PPT file I finished and sent today plus the word count from the one I just finished... I'm afraid to even guess, so I won't even try.
Tomorrow would have been a great day to contemplate going into Manhattan, but some unfinished work remains in addition to the despeckle, so any such trip will have to wait until some free time comes up.
Cheers...
