The chunk of work that arrived yesterday is rather sizeable, weighing in at around 8,000+ words. More work arrived today.

As one might expect, the word about when the end client might want to see the end product ("no great rush") got changed, so I was on the hook to send back a reasonable result, which I did, and once that was done, I was vectored onto the new stuff, which I also finished and returned.

The "reasonable result" comprised about 40% of the job, and between this, that, and the other thing today, I've completed another 40% of the job (except for the despeckling, i.e., checking and polishing), which puts me in a pretty good position to send out all the outstanding items tomorrow morning.

The emacs/org learning curve continues apace. My .emacs file is starting to gather mass. What I really need to do is start using the editor on a more regular basis. (Hmmm. I wonder—with all the extras that've been created for emacs, has anyone created something for LJ? UPDATE: Yes. See, e.g., here, although the associated LJ community—[livejournal.com profile] ljupdate—appears moribund.)

It's been a long day, and it's time to hit the rack.

Cheers...
