Last night was a quiet, uneventful night, except for the part where Shiloh came by to ask to be let out at 12:19 am.

Everything we had worked on during our stay at the condo went over the side, mostly because I was not in much of a mood to pull on some warm clothing and put Shiloh on a lead for her midnight head call. As a result, seconds after letting Shiloh out through the patio door, I saw two pale moonlit figures streaking across the shale, with Shiloh in the role of the pursuer.

So enjoyable was her adventure, it was a good half hour or so before she returned to ask to be let in.

Neither Galina nor I got much sleep after that, although I did drift off around 4 am for a couple of hours. About the only upshot of the night's rest (or lack of it), was that I didn't need an alarm clock to wake me in time for the weekly amateur radio breakfast.

The rest of the day was a sort of seven-layer cake of driving by the storage units, unloading a carload of stuff, taking it home, unloading the car, glancing through the boxes (Galina was in charge of actually unpacking them), and then heading to my office to do some translation.

The only exception to this routine occurred when I unpacked three particular boxes of books that I had carefully vetted and packed before leaving New York.

Overall, however, I managed to finalize a translation I'm doing of a diploma and academic transcript and then get to within 1,700 words of the end of the item due Sunday. That may sound like a slam dunk, but the list of questions I have about the translation is almost as long as the glossary I compiled while doing the translation!

Cheers...
