Gone before you can say...
Jun. 25th, 2012 09:18 pmI wonder, what circumstances, exactly, led "Jack Robinson" to win the prize and get stuck with this cliché?
Anyway, it doesn't feel as if it's past 9 pm.
I probably should have done more today, but I finished 2500 new words and despeckled another 2200 before sending the whole kit and kaboodle (I assume there was a kaboodle in there, somewhere, but you know what they say about assumptions).
* * * The kids came by yesterday for an eat-in take-out dinner (they brought over a bunch of stuff from Shanghai). After dinner, we sat around in my office for a while, mostly because it's cooler down there (and that's where the Roku box is now).
You should have seen Mathew's eyes light up when he saw that Angry Birds was on the Roku box!
I had loaded it once, but had absolutely no idea how to manipulate the Roku controller (or any idea of what the game is about—yes, I am that much out of it), and so exited pretty much without playing the game at all.
So of course, when Mathew asked me how to play the game with the Roku controller, I could honestly say I had no idea and could not help him.
About 40 seconds later—literally—the kid is launching birds at pigs.
Shannon looked at me and said, "It's the genes!"
And so, of course, Mathew ends up teaching me how to play the game.
I hope I can return the favor, some day.
Cheers...
