Changing habits...
Sep. 26th, 2012 09:10 pmThe cable connection came "just in time" to catch the start of the new television season, and I am not particularly pleased to see how, in certain respects, my knees jerk quite well in response to the siren call off series entertainment.
Monday night featured the resolution of the cliffhanger broadcast in last season's closing episode of Castle. I am a bit chagrined that the chemistry between Castle and Beckett is what kept me watching, because I found the plot to be sort of uninspiring, as was the case for the conclusion of the cliffhanger broadcast in last season's closing episode of NCIS, which aired as last night's season premiere.
One might attribute my mild disappointment to, perhaps, over-anticipation (which I would dispute in any event), except for the fact that the premiere of NCIS: Los Angeles—which was also designed to pick up where last season's finale left off—was a genuine pleasure to watch, at least for me, because of the depth of the mind games being played out.
I finished off last night's stint before the Tube with an episode of Vegas, which shows promise, but didn't really grab me. One thing I will note is that Dennis Quaid can really paste a determined-to-get-justice look on his face when he wants to.
