It sure didn't feel like Friday...
Mar. 1st, 2013 10:03 pm...but I'm not complaining, because despite incoming work, it sure felt like a Saturday!
We visited the Hong Kong Market while driving around, and both Galina and I noticed that the prices at the store have increased significantly since the last time we were there. I also was made rather acutely aware of the extent to which stuff on sale there is either flat-out processed or filled with artificial ingredients.
Still, their selection of vegetables is pretty impressive for its variety (as compared to what is normally offered in conventional grocery stores). Galina picked up a fairly sizeable piece that had been cut out of some member of the squash/pumpkin family (it came up as "pumpkin" on the store's receipt, at any rate), while I stocked up on daikon, something called "genuine fungus" (wood ear, dried), and a couple of cans of straw mushrooms.
The documentation file for org-drill makes it pretty apparent that Paul Sexton, the developer of the package, has been strongly influenced by software such as SuperMemo, because not only does org-drill support spaced repetition (using, I might add, the same five-level response scale as SuperMemo), but it also supports "incremental reading," which is a SuperMemo feature that lets you quickly make drill items from article text while you're reading, say, a Web page.
I look forward to learning more about this part of the org family of packages.
Cheers...
