A lively day, in at least two ways...
Apr. 17th, 2013 10:26 pmA number of emails hit the inbox early in the morning, but pretty much all of them consisted of "minimum charge jobs" that can be a royal pain to deal with when they arrive in large groups. This is because such jobs involve a lot of behind-the-scenes effort that, when done repetitively over the course of a day, reminds me that perhaps it's time for me to revisit the idea of how much to charge for a "minimum charge job."
Back when we lived in this house, before we moved to the Webster house and from there to Colorado at the end of 2000, Galina had made the acquaintance of our neighbor, who eventually moved to rural Virginia. Through that neighbor, Galina met a couple whose acquaintance we renewed today, visiting them at their place down in Dickinson. Like so many people I've met in Texas, the husband is one of those people who can build anything pretty much anywhere with almost no tools and even fewer materials, although back in the day, he was a computer guy. There are times I wish I had chops like that, but then again, I probably can do things other people wish they could do, so it balances out in the end.
Time to hit the rack...
